Good news! Anti-Trans Bill SB 723 Is DEAD! viaTransGriot

via TransGriot by Monica Roberts on 5/20/11

The peeps living along I-5, I-95 and I-495 didn't think we trans Texans could do it.   Our right wing opponents didn't think we were organized enough or had the ability to stop them from bumrushing a bad anti-trans bill through the GOP dominated Texas legislature.

But we believed we could do it, rolled up our sleeves and got to work killing that unjust bill

It gives me great pleasure to announce that anti SB 723 is officially dead for the 82nd Texas legislative session.   Time and place of death was at midnight in Austin, Texas in the Senate chambers.

Exhale trans Texas and break out the adult beverages.   Rest up and savor this win.   On Monday we thank all the Texas Democrats for hanging together, standing tall for their trans constituents and helping us kill that unjust bill.

The Bechdel test (google it. I’m not your information help desk) is such an odd standard, but totally typical of white feminism. The Bechdel test basically counts up the number of times cis able bodied straight white women talk about themselves and their narrowly focused concerns to other cis able bodied white women and serve [...]

Woman Miraculously Reunited with Missing Cat During Interview

You're going to want to have some tissues on hand for this one, and if you're at work, get ready to do some desk crying!

Judy had already found two of her three missing cats after a tornado ripped through her Tuscaloosa home, but nearly a month later, her 10-year-old cat Cadie was still missing.

Miraculously, while surveying the damage with a local news reporter, Cadie appeared out of nowhere for an unbelievable reunion.

"I wish he could talk, he could tell me where he's been!"

The story reminds me of this video taken after the earthquake in Japan, where another woman found her lost cat during a news broadcast. Those kitties just love the camera!

aaawwwwww - Pink Kitten Rescued From Abandoned Factory

via Catsparella by Catsparella on 5/18/11

Is this not the saddest little kitten you've ever seen? "Pink Panther," as she's been nicknamed by the staff at Cats Protection charity, was rescued along with her three feline siblings from an abandoned concrete factory in Redruth, Cornwall after being discovered when someone heard their faint cries. It's believed that the kitten gained her pinkish hue after coming into contact with red pigment used in the concrete manufacturing process. Rescuers tried to wash the color out, but have concluded it will probably have to grow out over time. The kittens were weak when they were first found, but are now being well cared for until they regain their strength.

Visit The Daily Mail and The Sun for the full story, and more images of Pink Panther and her family.
